Elgregoe the magician
On the 30th April, a magician called Elgregoe came to our school. He did his first trick while he introduced himself by pulling a glass out of his shoe. He then asked if we wanted some magic. We all shouted"YES!". So he started doing some tricks like turning some birds into a big bird, making a painting of a bird come to life and much more. Next he did an illusion with some laminated paper fish. Every time he swapped the fish round from top to bottom, the top fish looked smaller and the bottom looked bigger. After that, he grabbed a pink fish and asked someone in our class called Monique to choose a fish. He said if she guessed right, she will win a prize. Monique guessed yellow so Elgregoe got a card, turned it round so we could see it, and then we read the card. It read "you will guess yellow". Since she guessed it right, she got a prize. It was a 3-D ruler that had a picture of Elgregoe and Sue holding a bird, that changed to them holding magic wands. It also had some words that read"you've got the power". After that, he got someone from room 9 to come up. His name was Finley. Elgregoe made him wear this funny mouth. Elgregoe pulled a lever to open the mouth when he spoke, which was in a funny voice. He sang a hilarious song, also in his funny voice. Elgregoe awarded Finley with a 'you've got the power' frisbee. He also taught us about bullying and ways to stop it. He then asked for someone else to come up. He chose someone from our class called Tanesha to come up. Sue took a bowl with two bits of wire coming out the edge. The wire connected to an electrical box which beeped when she told a lie. Tanesha felt nervous and wanted to laugh. Some of the questions were: "Do you clean the toilet with a toilet brush?". Tanesha answered "yes" and the box didn't beep. He then asked" Do you brush your teeth with the toilet brush?". Tanesha answered "no" but the box beeped. Everyone started laughing. We knew it was a trick question. Tanesha's prize was also a 'you've got the power' frisbee. He then showed us a cool magic trick by swapping a grape juice drink with a cup. Then he swapped them round again and took off the tin that covered the grape juice bottle then said"I bought a spare in case one breaks" and pulled another bottle from under the tin. He did the same thing so many times the whole table was covered in bottles. The Elgregoe show was amazing and very funny.
